Virtual Conversation with the Authors: "Geopolitics at the Internet's Core" Book

The Institute on Disability and Public Policy (IDPP) at American University (AU) is delighted to announce a virtual discussion of Geopolitics at the Internet’s Core, a new book by Fiona M. Alexander, Dr. Laura DeNardis, Dr. Nanette S. Levinson, and Dr. Francesca Musiani. The event will take place on Friday, October 17, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. (ET), moderated by Dr. Derrick L. Cogburn, Executive Director of IDPP.

Published as part of the Information Technology and Global Governance series from Springer / Palgrave and edited by Dr. Cogburn, the book explores how the Internet Protocol has evolved into a focal point of geopolitical debate—shaping global governance, power, and the future of digital cooperation.

This engaging conversation brings together experts from across the field of internet governance and global policy:

  • Fiona M. Alexander, Distinguished Policy Strategist-in-Residence, AU School of International Service

  • Dr. Laura DeNardis, Endowed Chair in Technology, Ethics, and Society and Director of the Center for Digital Ethics, Georgetown University

  • Dr. Nanette S. Levinson, Professor, AU School of International Service and Co-Director of the AU Internet Governance Lab

  • Dr. Francesca Musiani, Research Professor, CNRS, and Deputy Director of the CNRS Center for Internet and Society

For IDPP, this event continues the dialogue on how digital governance intersects with questions of rights, equity, and inclusion.
