IDPP Promotes "AI in Action" HICSS-59 Workshop

The Institute on Disability and Public Policy (IDPP) is pleased to promote a half-day workshop at the 59th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-59), taking place January 6-9, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Maui. Titled “AI in Action: How We Teach, Use, Govern, and Secure AI,” this Symposium, Workshop, and Tutorial (SWT) session will bring together a group of experts to explore the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence across education, implementation, governance, and security.

The half-day workshop (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) will feature four interactive sessions, each including expert panel discussions, moderated dialogue, and audience Q&A. Sessions will run for 75 minutes followed by 15-minute networking breaks, creating space for in-depth exchange and cross-sector collaboration. The workshop was proposed by Dr. Karen I. Matthews, a Recanati-Kaplan Fellow at Harvard University, in collaboration with participating experts from across sectors. Dr. Derrick Cogburn, Executive Director of IDPP, assisted in organizing and advising on this event.
