An IDPP delegation will actively participate in the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) from 15-21 October 2016 in Quito, Ecuador. IDPP’s multifaceted contributions include: presenting at and facilitating accessible remote participation for the “Ecuador High Level Meeting and Forum on Disability Inclusion and Accessible Urban Development” hosted by UN DESA/DSPD on 16 October; and jointly convening the Persons with Disabilities Stakeholder Roundtable “Urbanization as a Catalyst for Disability Inclusive Development” on 19 October.

IDPP Executive Director Dr. Derrick Cogburn and IDPP Deputy Director Dr. Filippo Trevisan are both participating and presenting at the 112th American Political Science Association (APSA) Annual Meeting held from 1-4 September, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Persons with Disabilities Newest Official Stakeholder Group of Habitat III
At the Habitat III Third Preparatory Committee Conference (PrepCom3) in Surabaya, Indonesia on 27 July 2016, persons with disabilities became the newest official major stakeholder group of Habitat III by becoming the 16th Partner Constituent Group of the General Assembly of Partners (GAP).
